Okay. full disclosure here. This is my favorite taqueria, in part because I used to live in the area and have been eating here for over 10 years. The waitresses are not very friendly at first, and the chips are not very good, but its my home taqueria, and it is very very good and a very good bargain for dining out or take out. Yes, they make some mistakes, and no, they are not going to refund your money if you didn't like it. But order carefully and clearly, and check your order before you leave, and all that can be bypassed with ease. I am there for the food, not fine dining service, so lets address the food aspect. I LOVE their food. I am a trained (now retired) Chef, and am a picky picky wench, for whatever that is worth. I highly recommend the following items; The carne guisada burrito smothered (they may ask if you want gravy, say yes) is as big as your head so be prepared to take home the leftovers or share w a friend. 5 stars The torta with carne asada. 5 stars. The barbacoa is great and very authentic. 5 stars. And lastly, the chili relleno is heavenly!!! 5 stars Try it!! Its just off 35 and Weidner!!
